1. Check the display on the remote is working

Verify the remote control

1. Clear away any object that might be obstructing the IR signal (like curtains) or the remote IR sensor (like stickers) and try again.

One more possible issue with the remote

1. Insert new batteries into the remote control and try again.

2. Please use your mobile phone in camera mode pointing to the remote IR sensor while pressing on/off button.

3. If you can see no light from the remote’s IR, the remote is not working.

Might be an energy related issue (verify at your own risk)

1. Check position of the service switch or circuit breaker that belongs to the air conditioner in the electrical panel.

2. If circuit breaker is in the OFF position, please move to ON.

3. Consult the user guide for more information on the unit power supply and switches.

Verify the current operation mode.

1. Verify that the unit is operating on the desired mode according to the temperature.

2. For cool mode set the temperature below 70ºF and try again, if this works, change the temperature as desired.

3. For heat mode set temperature at 90ºF and try again, if this works, change the temperature as desired.

Verify your Air handler (indoor unit) filter(s)

1. Over time, filters get blocked by dust and debris that might cause leaking. (This decreases energy efficiency).

2. Check your filters at least once a month.

3. Clean it if you see accumulated dust or debris.

4. Cleaning your air handler filters is relatively easy. Consult the owners guide for a full how-to guide.

When was the last time your air conditioner received a full maintenance?

Insufficient cooling capacity

1.In air conditioners size matters. If it is too large you could be wasting money; if it is too small, it might not cool efficiently.

2.Air conditioner sizes are measured in BTU’s.

Air conditioner calculations rely on variable factors; it is recommended that your consult your NG Trade certified technician.

General troubleshooting

Error display (indoor unit)

When the indoor unit encounters a recognized error on different models,

  1. the running LED with flash in a corresponding series, the timer LED may turn on or begin flashing;
  2. an error code will be displayed;
  3. both 1 and 2.

These error codes are described in the following tables:

For other errors:

The display board may show a garbled code or a code undefined by the service manual. Ensure that this code is not a temperature reading.

Troubleshooting:

Test the unit using the remote control. If the unit does not respond to the remote; the indoor PCB requires replacement. If the unit responds, the display board requires replacement.

88 flash frequency:

Guidelines for a proper installation:

  1. Always make sure indoor unit has pressure before starting work.
  2. When running line set (minimum length 10 ft) (max length check chart)
  3. Always use a torque wrench to tighten flare fittings to torque specs
  4. Always use 14/4 stranded wire for commu- nication wire or outdoor to indoor unit wire.
  5. Always pressure check to 350 psi or 400 psi.
  6. Always soap bubble flare fittings after pressurizing system.
  7. Always pull vacuum to 500 microns.
  8. When adding refrigerant for extra pipe length always use correct formula (inver- ter r410 a) (pipe length- 7.5 m) x 0.16 oz/ft for 1⁄4 liquid line (pipe length- 7.5 m) x 0.32 oz/ft fro 3/8 liquid line.
  9. Always use a surge protector.
  10. Always test drain before leaving home.
